Matt grew up in GDO Law’s backyard and is a graduate of White Bear Lake. He earned his undergraduate degree from UW-Madison and attended the University of Wisconsin Law School. Thereafter, Matt worked as an attorney for the Wisconsin State Public Defender in Eau Claire. Matt maintained a practice focused on making sure that his indigent clients felt heard and treated fairly and respectfully by the justice system.
Following his time in Wisconsin, Matt returned to Minnesota as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Joy D. Bartscher in Saint Paul where he built relationships and learned the intricacies of the Ramsey County criminal justice system from the perspective of the bench.
Matt’s experience as both a Public Defender and a Judicial Law Clerk has been invaluable to GDO Law, where he focuses his practice on municipal prosecution in Ramsey, Washington, Anoka, and Isanti Counties. Matt also contributes time and talent to GDO Law’s family law team, where he helps clients resolve their legal issues with dignity and respect.
In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his loved ones, staying active, and cheering for his Vikings, Timberwolves, and Badgers.
